1. Bozcaada
Βρίσκεται στη βόρειο-δυτική ακτή της Τουρκίας στην είσοδο των Δαρδανελίων. Είναι ένα ανεμοδαρμένο νησί με αμπέλια που απέχει περίπου μισή ώρα από την Κωνσταντινούπολη. Το φρούριο δίπλα στις ήρεμες παραλίες συνθέτουν ένα όμορφο σκηνικό.
2. Καστελλόριζο
Το μικρότερο και από τα πιο όμορφα από τα κατοικημένα νησιά των Δωδεκανήσων, αυτό το νησί είναι προσβάσιμο με αεροπλάνο ή πλοίο από τη Ρόδο. Θα λατρέψετε τα πολύχρωμα, νεοκλασικά σπίτια μπροστά στο λιμάνι. Η βραβευμένη ιταλική ταινία Mediterraneo γυρίστηκε εδώ.
3. Salina

4. Île de Bendor
Αυτό το γαλλικό νησί αγοράστηκε, ακατοίκητο, από τον εκατομμυριούχο Paul Ricard στη δεκαετία του ’50. 1. Bozcaada
Off the north-west coast of Turkey at the entrance to the Dardanelles, this is a breezy wine-growing island whose port is attracting a smart set from Istanbul – about half an hour away by ferry. It has a fine fortress, uncrowded pebble beaches and several good restaurants. Fahri Hotel (hotelfahri.com) is close to the port and a short walk from the beaches. 2. Kastellorizo
The smallest and among the prettiest of the inhabited islands in the Dodecanese, this island is reached by air or ferry from Rhodes. Boats run to beaches on neighbouring islets; otherwise you swim off rocks. The Blue Grotto rivals the one in Capri. Multicoloured, neoclassical houses ring the harbour. The award-winning Italian film Mediterraneo was shot here. Five traditional quayside buildings have been turned into the Hotel Kastellorizo (kastellorizohotel.gr). From €110 b & b for a double room.
3. Salina
In the Aeolian Islands, Salina was one of the settings for the Oscar-winning film Il Postino. The volcanic Aeolians are served by numerous ferries, particularly from Naples and Messina on Sicily. Hotel Signum (hotelsignum.it) is a stylish renovation of traditional village houses, set amid olive and lemon trees and with striking views to smouldering Stromboli. 4. Île de Bendor
This French island was bought, uninhabited, by the pastis millionaire Paul Ricard in the Fifties. In the following decade Ricard’s dizzy vision turned it into one of the most fashionable spots in the south of France. Salvador Dalí stayed, as did Melina Mercouri, Josephine Baker and Jean-Paul Belmondo. Today it’s a holiday island, less frenetic than Bandol, just a few hundred yards away on the mainland. There’s still an art gallery and artists’ studios, but tennis and water sports, too. The four-star Hôtel Delos (hotel-delos-bandol.cote.azur.fr), designed by Ricard, has its own marina and the best restaurant of the island’s five. Double rooms from £170.
5. Meganisi
This is one of the smaller and more quaint Ionian islands, just off the east coast of Lefkas. You fly to Prevesa on the mainland and then have about an hour’s transfer by road and ferry. There are beaches, but the island is particularly popular with walkers. The 35-room Hotel Meganisi is inland but has a swimming pool and is about half a mile from the attractive port of Vathy, where there are quayside tavernas.
